Process Tip - How to boost productivity & get things done

Tasks

Even if you are smaller than a pencil, you can still achieve (just ask Frodo Baggins)...

It sounds so simple, but 95% of people* don’t know how to plan their work efficiently. Here’s how you do it. Someone asks you to do something (in whatever form – verbal, e-mail, carrier pigeon, etc.) create a task in MS Project or whatever other tool you use. Prioritise each and every task (no matter how small) and enter due dates for each of them. This becomes your pipeline of work. Get into the habit of entering your tasks as soon as you are given them. This method will help you to focus on your high priority tasks and get the really important things done! If you feel like the “little” tasks are getting stuck at the bottom of your list, bundle together like tasks, block out some time in your calendar and attack them all at once! People will be amazed at how well you get the important things done and how you “never forget anything”! Of course you forget – but your computer remembers!!!

*based on absolutely no factual evidence at all.
